Storm Season Is Here - Don't Wait on Risky Trees image

Storm season has a way of turning a "wait and see" tree into a very expensive problem overnight. And the tricky part is that the trees most likely to fail aren't always the most obvious ones. Sometimes it's a lean that's been there for years. Sometimes it's rot you can't see from the yard. Either way, by the time a storm rolls through, it's too late to act.

That's exactly the kind of situation we deal with all the time. A tree leaning toward a structure, a root base that's already compromised, bark that tells a story of internal decay - these are the warning signs that most homeowners walk past every day without a second thought. We don't.

Weak limbs and hidden cracks are the sneaky ones. A tree can look full and green from the outside and still have serious structural issues working against it. When wind picks up during a summer storm, those are the trees that come down first - and they don't pick a convenient landing spot.

Pruning can buy time and reduce risk on trees that are otherwise healthy. But when a tree is leaning hard, rotting at the base, or positioned to cause real damage to your home or property, removal is usually the smarter call. We do both, and we'll give you an honest read on which one makes sense for your situation.

This time of year we stay pretty booked up, so if you've got a tree that's been on your radar, sooner is better. The last thing you want is to be calling around during a storm trying to find someone available.
